FORTY FIRST SESSION OF THE PC IN BiH COMPLAINTS COMMISSION

Analyzed citizens' complaints on print media reporting

The Complaints Commission of the Press Council in BiH held a regular, forty-first session on Friday, 15 April 2011 in Banja Luka. Complaints received in past two months were analyzed at the session, total 6 complaints plus 2 queries about articles in BH press, but without official filing of the complaint.

Not upheld three (3) complaints: 1. Complaint of Mr Ibrahim Kerla, president of the MB SDA Vogosca, at the article published in daily „Dnevni avaz“ on 16 March 2011 – complainant's denial did not refer to concrete statements from the text; 2. complaint Mr Tarik Sadovic at the article „Almost 6,2 Million KM Spent Last Year for Purchase of Vehicles“, published on 22 of November 2010 in daily „Dnevni avaz“ – complaint out of time remit; 3. Complaint of Mr Tarik Sadovic at Adjudication of the Press Council in BiH Complaints Commission from 19 March 2011 – verified adjudication that no breach of the Press Code was in the article in question.

By mediation resolved two (2) complaints, published complainant's denial: 1. complaint of Mr Zdravko Djuricic, PR officer of the municipality Doboj, at the article „Opposition at Door“ published on 16 March 211 in daily „Vecernje novosti“; 2. Complaint of Female Network BiH at the article „Giant Scandal of Sarajevo Judiciary Easy Lady“, published on 31 March 2011 in magazine „Slobodna Bosna“.

Ad acta one (1) complaint: complaint of Mr Tarik Sadovic at the article „„Almost 6,2 Million KM Spent Last Year for Purchase of Vehicles““, published on 22 November 2010 in daily „Dnevni avaz“ – out of time remit for Complaints Commission to review the complaint.

Also, two queries of citizens were at agenda, but due to lack of full information and lack of official complaint, they could not have been analyzed in accordance with Complaints Procedure and the Press Code.
