a Seminar for Law and Journalism Students from BiH

Neum, 12 – 14 June 2013

The Press Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina is organizing a Seminar for Law and Journalism Students in BiH, in Neum, from the 12th to the 14th of June 2013. Participants of the Seminar will be 19 students of law and journalism from different parts of the country - Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Mostar, Zenica, East Sarajevo.

 

The fore coming educations event offers students the possibility to acquire additional knowledge on media legislation, media self-regulation principles, implementation of the law on protection against defamation, and free and professional reporting. The issue of hate speech as abuse of free speech in the context of implementation of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination and the Criminal Code of BiH will also be addressed.

 

The thematic, various, and intensive program will be realized by renown lecturers, media and legal experts, members of the Complaints Commission of the Press Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

 

Besides the educational component, an important segment of the Seminar will be networking and associating of young people from different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as realizing contacts and exchanging information, which can be significant for students in their future professional development.

 

The Press Council is realizing the Seminar for Law and Journalism Students with financial assistance of the National Endowment for Democracy.
